WaveShark

Wireshark for the radio spectrum

Leave a cheap SDR on a band and WaveShark tells you what is transmitting around you: sensors, vehicles, remotes, pagers, aircraft and ships, decoded or not, and kept.

WaveShark decoding a weather station on 433.92 MHz
WaveShark0.4.0

What it does

Decodes what it hears

45 ISM decoders, ADS-B and Mode S, ACARS and VDL2, AIS, radiosondes, APRS, POCSAG, DMR, TETRA, M17, LoRa mesh and wireless M-Bus meters.

Unknown signals too

A burst nobody has a decoder for still has its coding inferred and its bits sliced out, enough to recognise the same device again.

Listens and records

WFM with RDS, NFM, AM, SSB and CW on several channels at once. Every over can be kept as Opus and transcribed by a local speech model.

Any radio you have

RTL-SDR, HackRF, Airspy, LimeSDR and ADALM-PLUTO, or a tuner on another machine over rtl_tcp, SpyServer, KiwiSDR or IQStream.

Works with
